My entry for the Design a CD Cover contest

I'm new to this site, so this is my first submission... well, i guess its the first time i post some serious work on the internet...

The band, album and songs names are completely imaginary. When i look at it i guess it could sound like Massive Attack or Placebo.
Lately, I've been addicted to The Killers new album; and The Magic Numbers new single "Take a Chance".. oh and of course Bluebottle Kiss "A little Bit of Light"... if this album had a sound it would definitely be that song. Something not extremely happy but positive.

The Venus statue is a stock from sxc.hu ( annaOMline ).

Absolutely gorgeous....I can't see a single thing I don't like....great use of subtle complementary colors, a wonderfully integrated font and text treatment and I LOVE what you did to the statue. The textures are smooth and used really nicely.

I swear, I turn around the corner and there's something fantastic to love...I just can't pick a favorite anymore and I so do NOT envy the judges! Good luck!

Like it very much. There was many designs in this style, but this one I like very much. Good pick of colors, and great typo beside a little hole in a "tragic" word on the front label between "tra" and "gic"

But its just nuance. Overall +7.

You're an obvious pro! Terrific stuff, man.

Great flowing manip using the stock image and brushes. You knew how to choose the right substances to correlate with each other. If I had digital hands, I would pat your digital back.

nice to see portuguese people around here, makes me feel at home... well, i am at home.. but, you know what i mean

btw, you have some really good photos and manipulations. i'll be watching your artwork.

the background is a mix of brush with a pattern from this pack
i'm just experimenting some different techniques, i'll post some work i did right before this one, quite similar, where i actually started playing with patterns this way.

Very well done design.

Only drawback would be the red/brown colors found on the left of the front cover and in the middle of the disc. While being great complementary colors, I feel like it's not subtle enough to fit the overall look...

That said, this color, used for the website URL and band name, was just perfect.

Stylish !
